WHILE many people in Bridgwater still mourn the loss of the town’s M&S nearly three decades ago – the much-loved chain looks set to open a second store in Taunton.
M&S has been looking at the former Comet store at Hankridge Way, near junction 25 of the M5.
Comet closed in 2012 when the electrical retailer went into administration.
An M&S spokeswoman, who said there are no plans to close M&S’s store in East Street, Taunton, added: “We’re always looking at new sites for stores to ensure we have a relevant local offer and are considering the Hankridge Way development to enhance our customer offering in the Taunton area.
“We hope to be able to provide further information later in the year.”
