A BAFTA award-winning director has been filming scenes for her new feature film in Bridgwater.
Light Years, written and directed by Esther May Campbell, is a road movie taken on foot – when an eight-year-old challenges a family in denial by setting out to find her mythical dying mother.
Footage for the film has mainly been shot in Bristol but some scenes have also been filmed in Taunton and on Allen Road, Bridgwater.
The budget for the film is about £800,000 and will consist of 28 days worth of shooting.
Esther also runs a community cinema project for children in Haiti and has directed prime time TV dramas for Channel 4 and the BBC.
