POLICE were at Pets at Home in Bridgwater on Sunday to educate owners on the dangers of leaving their dogs locked in a car.
Bridgwater police were managing a stand at the store and customers enjoyed visits from the force’s dogs and horses.
PCSO Jo Farrow said: “The day was designed to raise awareness of animal safety and security; especially as people are leaving their dogs in locked in vehicles on hot days.
“It went really well and people especially loved meeting the police horses.”
Police also gave out information regarding Horse Watch, a scheme which is similar to neighbourhood watch which lets people mark horse related equipment in case it is stolen.
