BRIDGWATER and District Civic Society has presented an award to a group which has helped enhance part of the town.

Owen and Gareth Jones have been presented with the society’s Environmental Enhancement Award in recognition of conservation and enhancement work carried out on the façade of a property at 2 Castle Street, Bridgwater.

A spokesman for the society said: “Careful conservation of stonework and restoration of brick surfaces have replaced disrepair and inappropriate paintwork, and regained the beauty and dignity of the 18th Century, Grade I Listed Building."
