A DISNEY fanatic from Bridgwater may have wished upon a star after winning half-a-million pounds in the Thunderball draw.

Stuart Andrew Sussex, a self-confessed Disney fan, realised that his numbers had come up for the draw on June 6 while celebrating his sister-in-law’s 30th birthday.

He said: “My cousin had the National Lottery app and was looking at the Thunderball results. I know my numbers off by heart so realised instantly I’d won. I had to double-check but then the birthday party turned into a double celebration and we ordered a couple of bottles of champagne – on tab.”

Disney fan Stuart has been playing the same two lines with his ‘lucky numbers’ since the Thunderball began and uses them on all three weekly draws as well as playing the Lucky Dip on Saturdays.

The 28-year-old, who lives with his mum and dad in Bridgwater, said one of the many things he’d like to spend his £500,000 winnings on is ... a Disney cruise.

Stuart said: “My mum and dad have been on a few cruises and always enjoy them so I thought it would be nice to try. I love Disney and went to Disneyland Paris four years ago. So I’d love to do something like that again.”

As well as the cruise, Stuart’s wish list is a new car for his dad and a family estate for his brother and sister-in-law who have three children.

The winning ticket was bought in Sainsbury’s at The Clink Retail Park, Bridgwater.
