A 40-FOOT lorry parked up at St Joseph’s School in Bridgwater as the children learned about road safety.

The police, fire service and Somerset Road Safety Authority were there to teach children about the work they do.

Youngsters even got a chance to have a go on the emergency service’s motorbikes – not while the engines were running, of course – and see inside an ambulance.

DHL donated the lorry for the day so children could see the kind of vehicles that could be driving through the town with the construction of Hinkley Point C.
