A SEDGEMOOR councillor has been recognised for his achievements as a politician in the Grassroot Diplomat Initiative Award.
Cllr Duncan McGinty, leader of Sedgemoor District Council, came third at the awards ceremony in London from a shortlist of 70 candidates.
The award recognises UK-based politicians and diplomats who are representing civilian interests at the highest level in areas of policy, social and business overall. Cllr McGinty was nominated for securing a multi-million pound benefit package for communities set to host the country’s first third generation new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point.
