THE European Parliament election takes place this Thursday (May 22)

Polling stations will open across Sedgemoor from 7am to 10pm with eight parties fighting for six MEP seats.

Counting will not take place until Sunday in Bridgwater Town Hall as most of Europe is voting that day.

Once counted, the results will be relayed to Poole Borough Council, the regional co-ordinating authority, with the result expected at midnight – see bridgwatermercury.co.uk for results.
