IT’S back to his old school for the new head teacher of Catcott Primary, who has said it’s “like returning home.”

Chris Axten-Higgs took over the role as head teacher after the Easter break, having previously worked as deputy head at Puriton Primary School.

Before that, Mr Axten-Higgs worked at Catcott for six years so he knows the area, the school and staff very well.

Speaking of his visions for the school, Mr Axten-Higgs said: “I want to lead a school where the children achieve their full potential and have the breadth of opportunity offered to them by the top schools in the world.

“Our curriculum will aspire to bring together children’s understanding of their community, their place in their local area, and in the wider world; it will give every child a thirst to find out more.”

n CATCOTT Primary School will be the focus of next week’s Class Action feature in the Mercury.
