According to an ambulance spokesman, three casualties were taken to Musgrove Park Hospital.
He said: “One woman had foot and ankle injuries, another woman had stomach injuries and another person had back injuries.”


The incident has now been cleared. 


TWO children and two adults have been taken to hospital following the crash.

Two fire crews from Bridgwater and the Rescue Tender from Taunton were sent to the scene of the accident on the A39 at around 9.05am.

A fire service spokesman said: “On arrival at the scene near Swang Farm, crews confirmed there were three vehicles involved.  

“Two people were trapped. There were also two children in one of the vehicles but they were not trapped.

“Fire Service personnel released one woman and a man from different vehicles using small tools and hydraulic rescue equipment. 

“The two children and the adults were treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.”


Police remain on scene. Recovery vehicles have now arrived on scene.

Motorist Aaron Clarke said: “Traffic is a nightmare, it’s building up to the crossroads at Wylds Road. It’s moving but very slowly."


DRIVERS are being warned of a three-vehicle accident on the A39 this morning.

The A39 at Cannington is closed both ways, leading to slow traffic due to an accident.

Three vehicles are believed to have been involved between Main Road and Blackmore Lane and police are on scene.
