SUCCESS at the Easter Bingo event at the Bridgwater Rugby Club for the fundraisers at Marie Curie Cancer Care as the members raised £2,255.
The annual event, organised by Linda Parker and Rachel, was held on Good Friday and has grown in size and fundraising potential each year.
Two years ago the bingo night raised £800 and the year before raised $1,200.
The grand prize was an LCD TV donated by EDF energy which was won by local resident Tommy Trunks.
Amy Salmon, community fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: “The Bridgwater fundraising group pulled out all the stops to gather prizes, promote the event and raise awareness of the work of Marie Curie in the local community.
“They now hold the record fundraising total in Somerset for one of our Fundraising Groups.”
