SEDGEMOOR charity Ups and Downs South-West held a successful Easter family event to mark its move to a new centre.
The registered charity and Down Syndrome Support Organisation, based in Westonzoyland, supports over 500 families in the South-West.
It was based at the East Bridgwater 1610 Sports Centre, but the school claimed back the centre for a sports project and the charity had to find a new base.
Wendy O’Carroll, founder and chief executive of Ups and Downs SW, said: “We found the 1610 staff at East Bridgwater extremely accommodating, encouraging, inclusive and supportive.
“1610 have gone out of their way to look to accommodate us elsewhere and maintain the great relationship we’ve built up with them.”
After looking at various options from Nick Lovett, of 1610, Ups and Downs SW chose the new Robert Blake and Elmwood Leisure venue, and held a successful Easter family day there.
Wendy said: “We were pleased and grateful to welcome the Bridgwater chapter of the Harley Owners Group.
“It was a beautiful day, and children and families trooped outside and had a wonderful time posing for photos on the pristine and magnificent bikes and trikes, and chatting with the bikers, who even brought Easter eggs for the children.
“We can’t thank them enough.”
