A GRANT-giving animal charity is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for animal charities in Sedgemoor with the launch of its Spring Fundraising Drive.

Support Adoption for Pets, in partnership with Bridgwater’s Pets at Home store, is fundraising between April 16 and May 13 for Secret World Wildlife Rescue.

Pets at Home customers can buy a £1 raffle ticket for the chance to win a new car or other prizes. They can also take part in a ‘Round up to a £1’ initiative, whereby they opt to round up the cost of their purchases to the nearest pound, with the difference being donated to the appeal.

All the money raised by Pets at Home Bridgwater will go towards Secret World and the store is hoping to raise £1,200.

Support Adoption for Pets charity manager, Amy Wilson, said: “We have set ourselves a target of £450,000 this year. This will be broken down and split by how much each individual store has raised and then donated to their partnered charities.

“The customers of the Bridgwater store are always very generous and we hope this time they’ll help us reach our charity milestone of £10million raised over the years.”
