FREE advice on heating and oil tanks is being offered to flood-affected residents within Sedgemoor.
Sedgemoor District Council is offering the advice service about oil tank assessment, contamination and leaks. It is also contacting properties known to be affected by oil tank leaks to offer support.
Sedgemoor's Environmental Health officers Nicola Gardner and Simon Carpenter assess the health risk from the oil within a property, such as vapour/fumes, damage to pipes, damp, soil contact by humans/pets etc.
If oil contamination is found to be present after an oil assessment, the insurer should appoint a company that is competent to carry out a remediation scheme.
