A SYCAMORE tree in King Square in Bridgwater is being cut down this week to be replaced by a London Plane tree.
The tree is diseased and in decline and on Monday, March 24 the new tree, approximately six metres tall, will be planted in its place.
Cllr Peter Downing, chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, will be unveiling a plaque by the new tree to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the council.
