Sgt Gary Young of Bridgwater police told the Mercury: “There has been a recent rise in thefts from cars in the Sydenham estate.

“I would urge people not to leave valuables on display in vehicles and to please report anything suspicious using the non-emergency number, 101.”

Vehicles were broken into and items stolen include four black angle grinders, a large red toolbox containing multiple electrical terminals, three-draw toolboxes with sockets, spanners, Allen keys, a jump pack, a Navman satnav, various DEWALT and Makita tools and equipment including drills and a Paslode nail gun.

If you have been offered any these items for sale or anyone who has any knowledge or information relating to these thefts, contact crime support officer Mark Leach on 101.
