WHEN Shayne Ward gets behind the bar to pull pints for his fans after a show it has to be a sure sign that it has been a “pretty perfect night”.

On Valentine’s night the X Factor-borne artist with the star-gold voice whipped up the excitement in a buzzing Bridgwater crowd at the Blake Hall with his intimate pop set.

Shayne’s fans are loyal to say the least. A group of the singer’s staunch supporters were bustling in the drizzle outside the Blake Hall from 3.30pm on Friday until the doors opened, clamouring to get the ultimate spot before the stage.

A lucky little Bridgwater lady was also given a night she’ll never forget – Paige Taylor, eight, was left gobsmacked and then in tears of joy after Shayne got her up on stage mid-show to sing a song to her.

The ‘No Promises’ singer had evidently succeeded in wooing the lovers on a wet February 14.

When the show was over, one loved-up fan put the real cherry, icing, and glittery Valentine's frosting on the night when he interrupted his girlfriend’s autographing session with Shayne to pop the big question (thankfully she said ‘yes’).

Best mates Alison McGoven and Lauren Kane made the effort to fly over from Dublin, while a gaggle of lads trekked down from Argyll in Scotland.

Not forgetting the 86-year-old Shayne supporter from London who brought all her merchandise with her for him to sign.

Shayne’s best friend, Dan McCann, from Ireland, also joined him on stage to belt out a number.

The X Factor star then went for a well-earned drink with the SRL Promotions Blake Hall team in Bridgwater’s Bar 27 until the early hours of Saturday, to the bemusement of the assembled drinkers, followed by a hearty Sedgemoor takeaway.

By Shayne’s own admission his night in Bridgwater was one of the best ever, tweeting after the show:

Bridgwater Mercury:

SRL Promotions’ Dan Smith, said: “Shayne was really, really good, one of my favourites yet. He was just a pleasure.

“He actually said it was one of the best gigs he’d done because it was so relaxed. He definitely wants to come back.”
