One man’s battle to save his newly built house in Moorland is still ongoing as the water creeps ever closer to Sam Notaro’s home.
Family and friends have been helping Sam keep the rising water at bay by building a dam around his home.
Sam said: “The water’s still rising so we’re still building the bank. We’ve dug most of the garden up now.
“We’re trying to save the house if at all possible and then worry about anything else.”
With his partner and two daughters evacuated over four weeks ago, somehow his defence efforts have been working and the house isn’t flooded yet.
Sam said: “I don’t know how but we’ve lasted. I’m hoping we’re over the worst.”
