A CAFÉ Connect group in North Petherton has been praised by people hit by the floods.
The group, which meets once a month at North Petherton Community Centre, invited residents of Moorland and Fordgate along to its meeting on February 11.
Mollie Fooxs-Bale, who has been forced to leave behind her flood-hit Fordgate home, said: “They were so kind and we really appreciated having somewhere to go and meet our friends to know everyone was safe.
“There were around 80 people there. We haven’t been in our homes to use the phones and a lot of elderly people don’t have mobiles, so this was the only way to check on people and catch up.”
