Volunteers needed for autism group
VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help with a Bridgwater club for people who have autism.
The group is an out of school youth club, for the National Autistic Association, which operates from Recreation, Rhode Lane in the Hamp area.
It is designed for children aged eight to 16 who have high-functioning autism/Asperger syndrome.
Volunteers should be 18 or over and will receive a CRB check and free training.
Experience in social care or working with children is appreciated but not essential.
The club meets Wednesdays from 7pm to 8.30pm and children enjoy activities such as cooking, swimming and meals out. The club is £5 to attend, as the group is self-funded.
It is a closed group so booking is essential. Call Sam Turner on 07436035517 for an application form or to enquire about volunteering.
