THE achievements of Bridgwater College’s land-based, sports and services students were celebrated at their annual awards ceremony.
Over 100 students attended the evening, held at Bridgwater’s YMCA.
Mark Cox from Micron Bio-Systems, a biotechnology company based in Bridgwater, gave a speech which shared his successful sporting and business experiences, and gave students advice about progressing into their relevant job sectors.
A variety of awards were given out including: top student, highest achiever, most improved and top practical student.
Agriculture student, Mollie Goodall, 18 from Burnham, won the Mole Valley award for top practical student and sport student; Scott Franklin, 17, from Cheddar, won the most improved student.
Jeremy Kerswell, head of land-based, sports and services, said: “It was fantastic to be able to come together with parents, staff and the students themselves to celebrate the successes of the past year, during which our students have been a real credit to the college and their families.
“We’ve also had some amazing external successes with individual students and teams competing on a national level, of which we’re very proud.
“Thanks also go to Mark Cox and Micron Bio Systems for their continued support.”
