Somerset County Cricket Club beer and cider festival cancelled
6:30pm Tuesday 20th August 2013 in News
A BEER and cider festival planned at Somerset County Cricket Club has been cancelled.
The club said the plug was pulled on the event – scheduled for August 31 – due to poor advance ticket sales, but says a slightly different festival could be held during one of the remaining home County Championship matches.
Spencer Bishop, from the club’s commercial team, said: “While it is disappointing to cancel the event we are still looking to incorporate a beer festival along with live music in to one of our remaining County Championship matches.
"So, while the festival won’t go ahead in its original form there is still the possibility that it could happen in a slightly alternative format.
“I would like to thank Live’N’Up for all their help in planning the event as well as Rough Justice, Charlie Short, The Blue Room Baboons and Filta for agreeing to play.
“I would also like to thank St Austell Brewery for their help in the initial planning of the event.”
The club will be contacting all those who purchased tickets to offer a full refund.
