College students create anti-binge drinking film
BRIDGWATER College students are creating a short film to highlight the dangers of binge drinking.
The project is being made in conjunction with Bridgwater College’s Media Academy3 and Sedgemoor and West Somerset District Councils.
The film is based around a Responsible Drinking Initiative and highlights issues such as aggressive behaviour and vulnerability, which can result from excessive alcohol consumption.
Filming took place around Bridgwater, with Drama students from the College taking the lead roles.
Director Molly Harding, 17, said: “We've had a great time so far with filming. It will not only benefit us, Media Academy3, but will also hopefully send a strong message to local schools and the public.”
The film is fully funded by EDF Energy and will be played in public buildings and schools as part of their annual safety talks.
Head of EDF Energy’s Bridgwater Office, David Eccles, said: “EDF Energy is very pleased to be supporting this important initiative on a topic that we take very seriously.”
