Kate completes John O'Groats to Land's End ride
HUNTWORTH mother-of-two Kate Hunt has raised £1,000 for the British Hedgehog Preservation Society, after completing an epic journey from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
Kate, aged 50, completed the route in exactly two weeks.
She did most of the journey on her own, after her cycling partner, friend Caroline Weaver, injured her knee, however Caroline was there at the end, driving a support car on the final day.
Kate said: “A lot happened on the final day so I was very glad Caroline was there. I had a puncture and later I had a bad fall, but I got patched up and carried on.
“I was very pleased when I finished.
“I saw a number of other riders doing the same journey, but they had big support groups, while I was on my own almost the whole way, and camping almost every night, so I was quite proud to have done it that way.”
