STAFF, students and parents at Chilton Trinity School are being asked to decide if it should have a new uniform.

Three potential uniforms have gone on display and are attracting plenty of interest.

Students, staff and parents are being asked first if they want a new uniform, and if the vote is a ‘yes’, the preferred uniform will be voted on.

Charlie Gilbert, aged 15, who has tried out the new designs, said: "I think we should change the uniform. It would be nice to go to ties and if we had the school logo on our uniform, everyone would know what school we are from. To wear it felt new and it was a lot smarter."

Head teacher Lesley Greenway said: "This is purely a consultation at this stage to see if there is some interest in changing the uniform.

“Many parents have spoken to me and encouraged me to review our current designs which are different for younger and older students.

“Already we are seeing dozens of students each breaktime and lunch queuing up to see the new designs and offering their opinions.

“We had an excellent response from parents at a consultation evening where we showed them the different styles of uniform.

"These are exciting times as a school and there is a buzz around the place."
