Westonzoyland Carnival Club raises cash for charities

MEMBERS of Westonzoyland Carnival Club have presented the proceeds of their Christmas collections to charity.

The cheques, for £650 each, were presented to Toby Fielder, of Macmillan Cancer Support, and Adrienne Spindler, treasurer from the Bridgwater branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Lisa Heard, treasurer for Westonzoyland CC, said: “Matthew and Katey Martin were delighted to present the cheque to Jangles, who is retired, and some newer recruits to Guide Dogs for the Blind who came out for the presentation.”

Something positive coming from Westonzoyland, decent people living there too. There may be a storm brewing over this accursed village, in the news quite soon, something sick, something vile, something talked about in whispers behind closed doors, something akin to a filthy puss-filled boil that needs to be lanced. It"s possibly coming soon, the whisperers are saying there are already two or three squealers.
