Tony Good back in Bridgwater after lorry collision

WELL-KNOWN Bridgwater football official Tony Good, who was badly hurt in an accident at The Clink in January, is back in his hometown.

Tony, fixtures secretary of the Taunton and District Saturday Football League, was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol after suffering leg and head injuries after a collision with a lorry, at the junction with East Quay.

He was then transferred to Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, but is now back in Bridgwater, where he is being looked after at Milton House, a nursing home in West Street.

His wife, Rita, contacted the Mercury this week to thank all the people who have left kind messages and sent cards following the accident.

She said: “We appreciate all their good thoughts.

“Tony is improving slowly. He is now sitting up and is aware of what's going on around him.

“He is much, much happier here because he is home in Bridgwater.

“He's going to be here for four weeks at least but he can have visitors.”
