STAFF and children at Eastover Primary School in Bridgwater were delighted with its latest Ofsted report - which recognised a school on the up.
Eastover achieved an overall 'good' rating, having been judged 'satisfactory' following its previous inspection.
The latest Ofsted report praised:
- The strong senior leadership team
- Hard work of staff and governors
- Good pupil achievement, including those with disabilities and special educational needs
- Exceptional achievement of reception children, due to outstanding teaching
- Good pupil behaviour and good teaching, with well-structured lessons.
Inspectors said to improve further, the school could set pupils “more demanding independent reading tasks and mathematical investigations”, and increase opportunities for extended writing tasks.
The report also said marking could be improved.
