New service to help Bridgwater carers
10:20am Friday 1st February 2013 in News By Kirsty James
Cllr Christine Lawrence, cabinet member for Health and Adult Social Care.
CARERS in Bridgwater are to benefit from the launch of a new project.
Compass Carers, which launches February 4, will be delivered by Compass Disability and funded by Somerset County Council and NHS Somerset.
The service aims to help carers have a life outside caring and access help.
Cllr Christine Lawrence, cabinet member for Health and Adult Social Care, said: “If you give up your time, without pay, to look after a family member, a friend, or a neighbour, who is ill, frail or has a disability, then you are a carer.”
Compass carers will be in Taunton town centre in their red gazebo to talk to on February 4 and 8, or in Clarkes Village in Street on February 7.
Call 01823-255911 or visit www.compasscarers.org.uk for more information.
