LibDems hang on to Sedgemoor seat

THE Liberal Democrats still have two seats on Sedgemoor District Council after winning a by-election.

Helen Groves was elected in the Highbridge and Burnham Marine Ward in the poll last week for the vacancy created when sitting Liberal Democrat Joe Leach stepped down.

Result: Helen Groves (LD) 379; Bill Hancock (Con) 288; Sally Williams (Ind) 253; Ricky Holcombe (Lab) 249; Purple Watkins (Ind) 68.

The political make-up of the council remains: Conservatives 31, Labour 13, Lib Dems 2, Independents 2.

congratulations to Lib Dem candidate in the recent elections. ! It was a good job that the "Sitting encombant " Cllr Joe Leach was able to step Down, So to Speak, to go in to Banking, ..???! II understood he was involved in Local Pantomime, oh no he isn't, oh yes he is !! He's be Hind u,....... Still I'm sure the Truth will be Printed Soon, as to the real reason, of this Most Promising Liberal, High Flyers political Demise.!
