Autofit offers advice on ice

MOTORISTS worried about driving in icy conditions can get winter tyres fitted at a car and motorcycle maintenance firm in Bridgwater.

Autofit Motoring Centres on Wylds Road is offering specialist tyres which use a tread rubber compound and tread pattern specifically designed to retain flexibility in low temperatures.

Paul Rogers, Managing Director, said: “They give good braking performance on snow and ice, as well as on wet roads in cold conditions.

“We would advise all drivers have a de-icer, spare tyre, a torch and a blanket in their car at all times in the winter months. A hi-vis jacket and a shovel would also be useful.”
