New conservation course offered at Bridgwater College

NATURE lovers can take a new Animal Conservation course at Bridgwater College.
The two year Foundation Degree course, based at the Cannington Centre, will start in September 2013 in partnership with Oxford Brookes University.
Students can participate in various day trips and overnight study tours, including an optional field trip to South Africa.
Throughout the course there will be work-based learning placements and projects, allowing the students to make essential links with industry.
Rachel Legg-Wilde, programme manager for Animal Conservation, said: “Animal conservation has become an increasingly important practice due to the negative effects of human activity on wildlife.
“This course is ideal for students looking to specialise in ecology, wildlife monitoring and habitat. The trip to South Africa will really allow the students to see conservation work in practice.”
The College is also hoping to introduce a BSc (Hons) top-up course in Animal Conservation in September 2015 for those wanting to progress from their Foundation Degree.
The College will host an Open Morning at the Cannington Centre on Saturday, January 26, from 10am to 1pm. The course is not listed on UCAS. For more information call Course Enquiries on 01278-441234.
