A RUINED Somerset mill used as the setting in the video for Bryan Adams' hit song '(Everything I Do) I Do It For You' is up for sale.

Silk Mill, near Holford on the Quantock Hills, has gone on the market with a guide price of £60,000.

Rock legend Adams is featured wandering around the woodland site in the video for the power ballad, which topped the charts for a record 16 weeks in 1990 and served as the theme for hit movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Just one dilapidated building still stands on the 1.33-acre plot, currently owned by the League Against Cruel Sports.

No planning permission exists to renovate the crumbling structure, which dates back to the late 18th or early 19th Century and was once among a complex of textile mills on the site, though a recent feasibility study found that a stream running through the grounds would be suitable for hydro power.

Richard Stagg, of Seddons estate agents in Tiverton, said: “It's generating huge interest - this is probably the busiest I've been with a property since I started at Seddons.

“We've had people from as far afield as Switzerland getting in touch about it.

“It's always nice to have a property this interesting and different from the run of the mill ones on the books.”

Joe Duckworth, chief executive of the LACS, which is retaining sporting rights on the land, said:

“The league's selling this particular property to help us achieve our immediate charitable objectives, which at present this does not contribute to.

“Any money raised will be re-invested to aid the achievement of our charity's aims.”
