Talks to focus on Bridgwater economy
9:37am Wednesday 14th November 2012 in News By Kirsty James
Mulberry is moving to Bridgwater
MORE than 125 people are expected to attend an Economic Development Conference in Bridgwater this morning (November 14).
The event, run by Sedgemoor District Council, will showcase a wide range and scale of investment in the area and potential opportunities.
An impressive line-up of guest speakers from local, national and international businesses and organisations will address delegates to share with them their experiences of bringing major projects to the district.
Sedgemoor District Council Leader, Councillor Duncan McGinty, said: “This event comes on the eve of immense change and opportunity for the economy of Sedgemoor which is running counter to the climate elsewhere in the country.
“Bridgwater, for example, is seeing the construction of a new factory for Mulberry, a new Police Base and a new Hospital.
“In Cannington there is a national training centre for EDF Energy underway while the Construction Skills Centre at the College has just been completed.”
