that boarded up place in Angel Place with work going on opposite This is it, The Works would seem a good location to me.

Dont know whether there is any planning application in for it? Probably wont need it as it wont be change of use etc

Quite moaning, any shop is better than an empty shop.

Besides I'd have thought "decent shops" would be less likely to want to move to a town full of boarded up empty shops!

I think they call it rip off land, just because its a pound doesn't mean its good value. There was a program on TV only about a month ago where they focused entirely on Poundland. They reduced the packaging and the amount you got for your money to make it one pound. When you work out the weight of the item you don't actually save anything from the main supermarkets. They hope by reducing things like the size you will not notice you are getting less for your money and instead you think you are getting a good deal as its cost you £1. Be aware its not as good as it makes out to be.

you get what you pay for!

I took a chance on a bicycle rear mud guard and it literally lasted seconds, breaking off with the slightest of bending.

This is for all the know it all keyboard warriors. I finished a two week 'pre employment course' and interview last week for the new poundland and haven't heard anything back unsurprisingly just to let anyone know who might be going on that 'course' to not expect even a call to say you haven't got the job. And yes it will be in angel place.

Trouble is we already have 99p shop, This is it, Buyology etc and soon The Range and Poundland.

All in my experience sell cheap low quality goods. How about some decent stores?

Which given that in the main Bridgwater is full of cheap low quality citizens then it seems these stores have their demographics pretty well spot on!! 

I think low quality is putting it politely. No quality, perhaps?

Folks
What do you expect ...When a Town Council (Your Cllrs ) are quite happy to Have The Towns Post -Office operating out of a Portacabin
The Towns Mayor (Elected Town Cllr ) should be ashamed , but it doesnt effect him so hes not bothered ...Oh The Elected Town Cllr who happens to represent the Westover Ward (Town Centre Etc ) happens to be Cllr Smedley ..
Must be happy to have a Portacabin post office in his Ward ..Not seen him ask the Town Council to find a Empty shop or the use of a Council Building (Town Hall ..Trinity Hall ..Arts Centre ...Library )
