Newport season ticket-holders get free entry to Somerset matches

FOLLOWING the sudden death of promoter Tim Stone, Newport speedway's season is over. However, Somerset are to allow any Newport fans with season tickets to use them at Somerset's home matches.

Somerset co-promoter Mike Golding said: "It is never good news when a speedway club has to cease operation, but it is doubly sad given the circumstances behind Newport's current situation. We have always had an excellent relationship with them, especially with the Wasps being local rivals.

"Allowing Newport season ticket-holders entry to any of our home matches will give Wasps' fans the opportunity to continue to watch speedway until, we hope, they get their own team back on track."
