Evacuation for Enmore children
 |
| Class three pupils from Enmore Primary School dressed as evacuees during their evacuation day. |
CHILDREN from Enmore Primary School got a taste of what it was like to be an evacuee during a special trip.
As part of their Second World War topic, class three students travelled to the Fleet Air Arm museum for an evacuation day special.
They dressed as evacuees and some brought old-fashioned suitcases and a favourite bear.
The children were issued with identity cards, made gas mask boxes and practiced taking cover during an air raid.
They also explored a range of costumes and artefacts to gain an insight into everyday life during the 1940s and were offered an opportunity to explore the rest of the museum with the Carrier Experience and Concorde among the highlights.
