THE Winter Gardens in Weston are to host a royal spectacular to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The seafront conferencing and events venue will open its doors for the Big Jubilee – a free two-day event on June 4 and June 5 from 9am.

A variety of children’s entertainment will be on offer including face painting, bouncy castles and games.

Under-fives will also be able to play in a new kids’ hut adventure play area.

In addition there will be performances by local artists Ryan Inglis on June 4 and Sarah Williams on June 5.

There will also be a best of British menu with full English breakfasts, lunches and royal afternoon cream teas.

Peter Undery, general manager, said: “The Jubilee is an important milestone for the royal family and we want to help the community celebrate. The Queen has actually dined at The Winter Gardens in the past while carrying out royal duties in Weston.

“We have therefore decided to throw a two-day royal party offering a host of entertainment to keep the whole family entertained over the two-day Bank Holiday.”
