THE hits and memories will just keep on coming when original Drifters member Roy G. Hemmings brings his Motown and Philadelphia on Tour show to the The Playhouse Theatre in Weston.

The multi-award winning artist, along with his 15-strong band and singers, celebrate 50 years of Motown on Saturday, June 2 at 7.30pm.

Audiences can expect a show featuring hits by The O’Jays, The Tramps, Billy Paul, Candi Station, MFSB, The Stylistics, The 4 Tops, The Supremes, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Boys 2 Men, The Drifters, The Jacksons, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Ritchie.

Frontman Roy G.Hemmings has performed several Royal Variety shows and performed twice at The White House for former president Bill Clinton.

The ELO Experience will transport the audience back to the days hits such as Wild West Hero, Sweet Talkin’ Woman and Mr Blue Sky.

The original Electric Light Orchestra was formed more than 40 years ago by Birmingham musician Roy Wood.

The band, later taken over and nurtured by Jeff Lynne, became one of the most remarkable success stories in pop music history. ELO enjoyed 26 top 40 UK hits and 20 top 40 hits in the US.

The ELO Experience is made up of Andy Louis (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Steve Hemsley (keyboards, special effects, vocals and the show’s musical director), Jan Christiansen (lead guitar and vocals), Tony Lawson (drums and percussion), Viv Blackledge (cello) and Olivia Newton (cello).

He is one of the world’s finest guitar players and has worked with top artists including Emmylou Harris, the Everly Brothers, Dolly Parton and Eric Clapton.

Lee, a double Grammy award-winner, is coming to the Playhouse Theatre on Thursday, May 31, at 7.30pm, along with his band Hogan’s Heroes.
