Bridgwater Amateur Operatic Society has persuaded the world famous Black Dyke Band to perform in Bridgwater this year.
The brass band, whose history can be traced back to 1816, will present a concert under music director Dr. Nicholas Childs at Chilton Trinity Technology College on Sunday, September 30, at 2pm.
With over 300 recordings to its name, an Oscar nomination for music and concerts in the Sydney Opera House, New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall in London to name a few, the Black Dyke Band will be sure to provide an afternoon of quality music making.
Bridgwater Amateur Operatic Society spokesman Paul Billing said that although tickets were not yet available, enough interest had been shown in the concert that they had already been forced to create a waiting list for tickets ahead of the actual sales date.
Tickets are expected to go on sale in May or June.
The concert will be sponsored by Maxwells Accountants, Bridgwater and Brunel Capital Partners of Bristol.
