Sweeney Todd, played by Ed Creswick Sweeney Todd, played by Ed Creswick

AN exciting new production of ‘Sweeney Todd’ will be performed by Bridgwater Amateur Operatic Society at Bridgwater Town Hall on April 24-28.

The production celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Rose Bowl Award-winning show presented by BAOS in 1992, directed by the late Brian Buttle.

Stephen Sondheim’s gripping musical, widely acknowledged as his finest, is characterised by brilliant, dark humour and magnificent music.

It tells of barber Sweeney Todd’s return to London after wrongful imprisonment, and his quest for justice and revenge against those who ruined his life . . . with help from pie shop owner Mrs Lovett.

A special senior school preview will be presented on Tuesday, April 24, with all tickets priced £5.

The show is suitable for young people aged 12 and above.

Tickets priced £9 to £15 are available on 01278-662181.
