A Bridgwater metal band wowed a judging panel and sailed though the audition stage of a national music competition.
Death By Ki battled against hundreds of acts on the stage of Live and Unsigned to secure a spot in the live shows in Cheltenham on March 27.
Influenced by bands such as Metallica, Trivium and Shadows Fall, the foursome will now be competing against the other most talented bands and artists in the country in a bid to be signed.
Lead singer Josh Ayerst said: “There were about 250 acts in the auditions, and we got down to the 45 that went through to the regional final.
“We had to play 60 seconds of our own song to get through. This time, we get three and a half minutes on stages in Cheltenham, which has got to be half a cover version and half an original song. We're feeling pretty positive about it.”
Making up the band, lead singer and guitarist Josh plays alongside Will Robins on bass, Drew Armstrong on lead guitar and Nick Cope on Drums.
Although they have only been together three or four years, Death By Ki have already played in venues across the South-West and will be performing at this year's Somerrock in Bridgwater this summer.
The band are now preparing for the live show this month in Cheltenham for the opportunity to progress towards the Live and Unsigned festival at the O2 in London.
The overall winner of Live and Unsigned will be offered a recording and management contract with Future Music with an investment of up to £30,000 to release their single.
