West End singer wows Bridgwater audience

SENSATIONAL West End singer Chris Holland wowed his Bridgwater audience last Sunday during an outstanding fundraising performance.

The sell-out show was opened by Earl Carpenter, who sang Moon River, before striking up a relationship with the enthusiastic audience as his amusing personality shone through.

Jenna Lee James brought a touch of glamour to the stage, delivering a powerful version of Somebody to Love before singing Hero and How do I live Without You? and Tina Turner's River Deep, Mountain High.

Next she gave a moving version of Eva Cassidy's Somewhere over the Rainbow, and ended with As Long as He Needs Me from Oliver.

After the interval Chris, who had flown over from Ireland especially for the show, walked on to stage performing Love the One You're With and received a great response from the audience.

He performed songs from his recently released album Finally, along with Starlight Express, Michael Ball's Love Changes Everything and '70s rock songs There She Stood and All Right Now.

Throughout the night Steve King accompanied the acts on keyboard with James on guitar, John on base and Mark on drums.

Everyone had a ball and when the evening came to an end, Chris received well-deserved applause and a standing ovation. He came back on stage for his encore with In the Still of the Night from Dirty Dancing, leaving everyone to make their way home with music in their hearts.

The event, which was organised by Ken and Carol Baker and friends, raised nearly £2,800 for Help for Heroes and more than £500 for the Meningitis Trust.
