AN IRISH singing legend is stepping out of the limelight with The Dubliners and onto the stage at Bridgwater Arts Centre on Friday, May 22 – and there are only a few tickets left.

Celebrated Sean Cannon will be playing a special one-off evening called Shades of Green, which will be filled with top Irish music.

One of the most in-demand musicians in Europe, Sean tours constantly both as a member of the Dubliners – of which he became a full time member in 1982 – and also with his son James as a duo.

For more than four decades, Sean has been a huge favourite on the live circuit giving passionate and rousing performances, and has an unequalled reputation as a singer, musician and raconteur.

He makes a welcome return together with his son James to the arts centre after a 15-year gap. James provides the perfect compliment with his rich deep voice and superb guitar playing.

The Cannons promise another unforgettable and memorable evening of music, wit and song and will be performing many favourite Irish numbers. The evening will be steeped in, but by no means restricted to, the rich musical history of Ireland.

Sean and James Cannon will be performing at the arts centre on Friday, May 22, with support from local Irish band Diaspora.

Reserved seats at £12 are available from the evening’s host, Roger Collett, on 01278-451187 or from Strings ’n’ Things – not directly from the arts centre.

A donation and a collection will take place during the evening on behalf of Penrose Special Needs School.
