When Guinevere Pettigrew, a middle-aged governess in 1939 London, is unfairly dismissed from her job, her attempt to gain new employment as a social secretary catapults her into the glamorous world and dizzying social whirl of American actress and singer Delysia Lafosse. Miss Pettigrew soon finds herself faced with the task of helping Delysia navigate both her career and love life. WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 5 7.30pm The Big Ballet at the Playhouse, Weston. 7.30pm Humble Boy at the Strode Theatre, Street. Winner of the Critics Circle best play award at the Peoples Choice Best New Play in 2002, Humble Boy is a comedy about broken vows, failed hopes and bee keeping. Following the sudden death of his father, Felix returns home to his difficult and demanding mother. He soon realises that his search for unity must include his own chaotic home life. Street Theatre's production of the play will be the first ever performed by an amateur company in Somerset.

7.30pm Steve Steinman's Vampires Rock at the Playhouse, Weston. 8pm Neil Maya Quartet at Chaffcombe Village Hall.
