A POPULAR celebrity psychic is set to wow crowds in Bridgwater.

Derek Acorah is arguably the world’s most renowned spirit medium, having demonstrated to many hundreds of thousands of people in theatres throughout the UK and on several TV and live performances in the USA.

Now, Acorah will bring his show to Bridgwater’s McMillan Theatre on Friday, December 2.

Derek’s television career dates back more than 15 years when he became the first medium ever to demonstrate live on air and without the benefit of an edit suite.

On a weekly basis he brought hope and comfort to the viewing public on various TV shows, and is currently best known for appearances on Most Haunted with Yvette Fielding.

Since then he has toured the country talking about his paranormal experiences and demonstrating mediumship and psychometry to large audiences, and he is now bringing is Soul Reunion tour to Mid Devon.

His journey to the world of spiritualism, however, has taken in a far more surreal audience.

While Derek had his first supernatural experiences as a child, he did not let this distract his love of football. At the age of 13 he signed for Wrexham as an apprentice and was also signed by Bill Shankley's Liverpool FC. A knee injury ended his football career, but television beckoned.

He has achieved international success with his television and personal appearances across Europe the Middle East as well as the USA. He was recently in Hollywood, starring in his own show at The Vogue Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.

Derek is also the only medium ever to address the famous Oxford Union and his photograph joins those of other renowned guests such as Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Yoko Ono and Michael Douglas.

He is also a team member with the International Society of Paranormal Research.
