JUST when you thought the story of Cinderella had been told and re-told from every possible direction, along comes a very different version.

Forget the Disney classic or the often sugary remakes involving the usual Hollywood stars; Soho Cinders is more tabloid than fairytale.

In this version, very few people are home before the clock strikes midnight so Cinders might be able to stay out a lot later.

Soho Cinders is a modern day, and very British, adaptation of Cinderella that’s set in the brightest of London’s districts – Soho.

However, the heroine is played by a boy named Robbie, who, whilst fighting off his two ugly lap-dancing step sisters, Clodagh and Dana, manages to get caught up in a love affair with the London mayoral candidate James Prince. Their worlds collide, forcing them to fight for their own fairy-tale ending in this hilarious, satirical twist of a classic.

The potent mix of politics, sex scandals and true love come together in this contemporary musical with an infectious score that you’ll be singing past the stroke of midnight.

This version by the talented Muses Theatrical Productions follows their highly successful run with Little Shop of Horrors last July.

Director, Cameron Isherwood, who founded the company explained: “Our aim is to inspire, take chances and advance the individual from amateur to a professional standard.

“We want to produce shows throughout Somerset, that are challenging, unheard of, yet deserve to be right up there with the rest of the greats.

“We use only local talent and businesses to create professional looking shows.
