THERE aren't many jazz violinists in the world and even fewer who can also play classic music.

John Pearce, who hails from the West Country, is one of those very few and he's bringing his immense talent to Cossington next month.

His technical grasp mixed with his sheer passion for music, is a treat to behold and even more to hear live.

John started playing the violin at the age of seven and has since performed all over Europe and Japan.

He has played live as a soloist on BBC radio and television and has given world premieres of works by composers such as Sir Richard Rodney Bennett.

He regularly appears as a soloist, most recently performing the Beethoven Violin Concerto with the Stroud Symphony Orchestra.

For his visit to Cossington Village Hall, John will be joined by award winning pianist Dave Newton to play the works of Ellington, Gershwin, Porter and more.

Some self penned works and a hint of Bach will complete a memorable collection of quality jazz. September 19.

Reserved seats £ 10.00.

*Local man, Roger Collett is responsible for bringing John in September and in October, Roger has secured the talents of Sean Cannon, leadman with the Dublin Legends formerly the iconic Dubliners.

Sean will be joined by his two highly talented sons to play a wonderful programme of Celtic music and song, all performed with the usual Irish charm and passion. October 31. Reserved seats £12.50. All start 8.00pm
