A STUNNING exhibition of images entitled ‘Reflections : Somerset Floods, One Year On’ opens at Bridgwater Arts Centre from today (Tuesday).

The exhibition in The Gallery is created by Somerset photographer Matilda Temperley.

Shot entirely in black and white and enlarged to a scale that gives the viewer an impression of lifesize, Matilda’s marvellous work graphically records the massive impact on the lives of Somerset Levels dwellers that last year’s floods exerted.

This being the anniversary of the disaster, the exhibition is a reminder of what happened.

Matilda’s images respectfully and sensitively remind us that, although the event has largely dropped out of the news, for many of the people affected it continues to remain, an agony.

The exhibition runs until February 28, open 11am- 3pm.
