AN EVENING of side-splitting comedy comes to Bridgwater next month.

Bridgwater Arts Centre will play host to the Laughing Cat Comedy event, which is certain to get the chuckle glands going.

The centre has teamed up with Genius PR and Events, which runs the hugely successful Taunton Com-edy Festival, to bring the evening of top class stand-up comedy to Bridg-water.

Headlining the evening on Saturday, February 7, will be experienced comedy circuit favourite Tim Clark.

Tim has been a stand-up comic for most of his adult life and still does over 200 performances each year, with countless shows at all the premier venues including The Glee and the Comedy Store, where he has featured regularly for more than 20 years.

The evening will be in the safe and hilarious hands of compere Neil Cole who has appeared all the major comedy clubs around the country, including MCing for music events at the Royal Albert Hall and supporting Russell Brand on his UK tour.

David Tsonos will open the night armed with daft and funny stories which he has told at venues all over the world. If you want serious comedy, then David Tsonos is not your man. His comedy stems from being the youngest of five boys, babysitting his nephews, and his cat.

Funnyside Comedy Club concludes: “David Tsonos has the perfect energy to start the evening – amiable, laid back and funny.”

Completing the line-up of funny faces is Athena Kugblenu; a comic and event host with intelligent, thought-provoking jokes that still have an edgy sting. After only seven gigs, she made the semi-finals of So You Think You’re Funny in 2012 and is now being regularly booked at comedy hot spots in London after working hard on the open mic circuit.

Tickets are priced at £10 and the show starts at 8pm while the bar opens at 7pm.
